From August 6 to 9, one of Vigo’s most important sporting and cultural events took place: O Marisquiño, which brings together athletes from various parts of Europe and the world each year in an event filled with activities, competitions, gastronomy, concerts, and urban art.

This was my first time at the event, during which I worked alongside five other artists on a mural intervention approximately 40 meters long, where each of us had complete creative freedom in both subject matter and color palette.

When deciding what to paint, I took into consideration that during this first half of the year my work has focused on murals with square and/or rectangular formats, leaving me very little time and space to reconnect with my primary focus: letters, in a smaller, horizontal format. This type of format has always allowed me to be much freer with improvisation, but at the same time, being framed within an event with such a specific theme, I wanted to include a recognizable element for visitors—hence the skateboard and sneaker. The colors were a decision based on personal preferences, and upon arriving there I realized they were the predominant colors in the event poster representing the artistic section, which made the entire piece dialogue more closely with the festival.
