Painting in a room can be a challenge, as you have to think about the space in a three-dimensional way. Since the room was medium-sized, I focused on placing the key elements of my last year’s work in a way that allowed them to be appreciated without making the space feel cluttered, trying to maintain some connection between each of them as you go from wall to wall. The Z on the floor, which can be seen from both sides, serves two purposes: first, a signature, and second, another recurring element with which I often play between space and form in a large number of my works.
